FOCUS AND SCOPE
The Bioinformatics and Biodiversity Conference (BBC 2024) serves as a premier platform for researchers, practitioners, and academics to present and discuss the latest advancements, trends, and challenges in the fields of bioinformatics and biodiversity. This year's conference centers around the theme “Bioinformatics Solutions for Biodiversity Research”.
The conference will feature the following oral parallel sessions:
- Data science and AI
- Biomedical and health informatics
- Biodiversity and conservation
- Cheminformatics
We welcome original research papers and reviews that contribute to the understanding and advancement of bioinformatics and biodiversity.
PEER-REVIEW PROCESS
All manuscripts submitted to BBC 2024 will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and relevance of the work presented. The review process is as follows:
- Submission of Manuscript: Authors submit their full papers in English through our online submission system (CoSy).
- Initial Editorial Assessment: The editorial team reviews each submission for compliance with the conference scope and guidelines. Papers that do not meet the criteria may be rejected at this stage.
- Blind Peer Review: Manuscripts deemed suitable are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The review is conducted anonymously to ensure impartiality.
- Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers assess the manuscripts based on:
- Relevance to the conference themes
- Technical rigor and scientific validity
- Originality and innovation
- Clarity of presentation and organization
- Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' feedback, the editorial team will make one of the following decisions:
- Accepted without revision
- Accepted with minor revisions
- Accepted with major revisions
- Rejected
- Notification to Authors: Authors are informed of the decision and provided with the reviewers' comments. If revisions are required, authors must submit the revised manuscript by the specified deadline.
- Final Submission: Accepted papers must be finalized according to the reviewers' feedback and the conference's formatting guidelines.
Authors can track the status of their submissions through their accounts on the submission system. Timely communication and adherence to deadlines are crucial to ensure inclusion in the conference proceedings.
PUBLICATION ETHICS
BBC 2024 is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. We adhere to the principles outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
- Authorship and Contribution: Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the work should be listed as authors.
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cite or quote the work of others.
- Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to make data publicly available if feasible.
- Multiple Submissions: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one conference or journal concurrently is considered unethical.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Authors should disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their work.

CODE OF CONDUCT
We expect all participants, including authors, reviewers, and organizers, to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully. Harassment or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
Our code of conduct is guided by the principles outlined in the COPE Code of Conduct. Participants are expected to:
- Respect Confidentiality: Reviewers and editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
- Promote Integrity: All parties should promote accuracy, completeness, and originality in research.
- Avoid Conflicts of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts that could influence the review process or conference activities.

ATTENDING THE CONFERENCE
Presenting authors are required to attend the conference to engage in discussions and answer questions about their work. The conference will be held in hybrid mode, both online and at Start up Center - Science Technopark IPB (STP - IPB), Bogor, Indonesia.
If you are unable to attend, please arrange for a co-author or qualified colleague to present on your behalf. Any changes in presenters should be communicated to the conference organizers in advance. Please note that failure to present the accepted paper at the conference may result in removal from the conference proceedings and associated publications.
